- Stater Staff

Senior middle blocker Becky Neglia was named the Mid-American Conference Volleyball Co-Offensive Player of the Week thanks to her play at the Kent Invitational.

Neglia shared the Player of the Week award with Northern Illinois' Mandy Swick.

In 15 games over the two day tournament, Neglia averaged 5.07 kills per game, 3.07 digs and 0.80 blocks. In addition, she hit .362 for the tournament with two aces.

Against Connecticut, Neglia had a career-high 27 kills in four games. She was also named Most Valuable Player of the tournament.

For the season, Neglia is hitting .310 while averaging 4.57 kills and 2.73 digs per game. She moved into first place on Kent's career kills-per-game chart with an average of 3.45 after last week. Neglia needs just 125 kills to become Kent's all-time kills leader.

The Flashes are 6-2 on the year, and travel to New Mexico for the Domino's Pizza Classic Friday against No. 21 San Diego.
